Environment campaign is perhaps the most popular theme of campaign for the last few decades. The campaign is then followed by some actions that have the purpose to save the earth, especially by reducing the green house gasses that cause the global warming. Global warming is a case when the heat from the sun is trapped inside the earth’s atmosphere and it cannot be reflected back to the outer space. The heat is trapped by the greenhouse gasses.
There are many greenhouse gas, such as the combustion output from car engines, factories from a electrical plant and many more. Nowadays people are getting more and more concern regarding this since, if the condition is not to be changed, the end of the world might come sooner than we expected. Every little effort that we do to reduce the greenhouse gas is a hope for our earth. In some countries, there are some independent institutions that try to reduce the gas. Some of what they are doing is by limiting the electricity consumption of households’ items so that they consume less electricity. The less we use electricity, the less coal that we burn to create that electricity power. Energy star is one of “environmental friendly” institutions which provide a requirement form almost all electrical equipment. They even provide a requirement for small unnoticeable exit signs that usually placed in buildings. They create a requirement that for each side, the exit sign must only use maximum 5 watt of electricity.
It is too bad that not every country has this kind of institutions. If they do, I believe that we will live in a better earth in a short time.
